One of my favourite singers and and a gem from an under-rated album that A Tribe Called Quest rinsed out more than once ("Inside My Love" formed the crucial sample on "Lyrics to Go"). An amazing voice (one of the greatest vocal ranges) and indeed an amazing career, sadly cut short by breast cancer, at the age of only 31. Minnie became a spokesperson for Breast Cancer and helped educate many on the illness before her death. Stevie Wonder, for whom she sang backing vocals with on "Ordinary Pain", was one of the last people to visit her and she was listening to a recording he made her her as she died. The story of the iconic album cover is impressive too (find it on youtube), but the really impressive legacy of Minnie Riperton is her amazing...

More Tribe action from a great album too-even Diplo has got in on the act with Brew Barrymore but of course it is "Electric Relaxation" which is the one here (been hammering non stop since 1993!)
